Claire has already finished 8 weeks! Where is the time going?

Here is a record of their experiences!

Week eight is done! T minus 4 weeks until THE Demo Day :scream:

We’ve been working through backend development lessons over the past two-ish weeks. Yes, the information is difficult to understand, but by now I realize that I am not going to understand new programming concepts the second I’m introduced to them. Coding takes time to learn. It takes time to digest.

At this point, I no longer feel intimidated by learning a new language or method. I understand now that the key to mastering all of this is repetition. Good ol’ boring repetition. I wish I could tell you otherwise, but there’s no fancy secret to learning this.

If I were to give anyone advice who is looking to take a coding bootcamp, it would be this: don’t lose your confidence. Don’t let the perceived success of another student psyche you out. Everyone starts at a different place knowledge and experience wise, so understand your own learning style and pace.

Throughout these past two months, I think that’s been the hardest thing for me to learn. You’d think it’d be JavaScript, right? Nope. It’s to meet yourself where you’re at. Work with what you do know. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Do that and you’ll be surprised by how much you can accomplish. :muscle:
