The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) signed into law on July 22, 2016, was designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market. WIOA offers employment and training services for adults, dislocated workers, and youth by providing grants to states who are then able to offer it to participants. There are several steps and eligibility requirements that take into account an individual’s employment status, income, age, veteran status, prior education, and location, etc. If you would like to inquire about qualifications for one of these services, please check out the website for the Full Employment Council that serves the Kansas City Area, Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray Counties.
